We hope everybody had a great Christmas and New years!
It has been a little while since I posted anything, so I will just fill you in on what has been happening in the Tatum household lately!
First of all, I will tell you about our job situation. In my last post I mentioned that I was working two jobs, at a cafe, and a salon... Well unfortunately the cafe job left just as quickly as it came! I only worked there about 3 months and it ended up just not working out. Luckily I still have a job at the salon, and thankfully I have great news, my manager offered me a permanent part-time position! This is different from what I am currently doing, which is a casual position. The first difference is that I will be getting a pay cut, which is not good, but it is going to be made up by the fact that I will be getting holiday pay and sick days! This is very exciting because after discussing it with my manager, I realize how much holiday pay you gain... in my job you actually gain 2 weeks every 6 months! which is great because that means that when we get to come back to the states ( in a year) I will have the whole month paid for!! :) Wanna here some more great news?!?!? Bryon found a job! :) yay! he is working for this gourmet pizza place called Crust Pizza as a delivery driver! his first night on the job is happening as I type :) hehe!
The next big thing that has happened to us is that we moved!! This is actually a really good thing because it is so much cheaper than out other house. Before we lived in college housing and they charged us per person, and now since we moved out with another couple and a single person, we are doing it per room! It's about half of what we used to pay. The location is a bit different, it is further away from the school, but we are now a bike ride away from the salon I work at, so it kind of evens out. Our house is in an older part of town than we were before, but we got lucky and our house is brand new, we are actually the very first renters in the house! Also this is the first time we have actually felt like our house is our home! we are finally getting creative and decorating like its actually our own! Pallet furniture! Toilet paper roll art :)
Snorkeling at Shelly Beach!!
The past few months Bryon has also been on his Christmas break, which as you probably know is also in the summer! :) I will tell you it is pretty awesome to be able to say that we spent new years day on the beach! we have been snorkeling many times on this break, and I will go ahead and say that I don't even have a desire to go to the beach unless I'm in the water with a mask on my face and fins on my feet... I Love It! We have also been to the mountains this summer, there is a little place about and hour and a half away from here that the locals call the Jelly Bean Pool. This is basically a swimming hole in the Blue Mountains... here are some pictures of some our summer adventures!
